The Empathogenica, the empathogens, are Pendell's class of "mammalian raptures": agents that soften emotional defensiveness and produce warmth and a heightened sense of closeness. Most empathogens are synthetic (MDMA and MDA foremost), but a few plants belong here. See Empathogens for the wider class.
