Psychotria viridis
Psychotria viridis, commonly called chacruna, is a shrub of the coffee family native to the Amazon basin. Its leaves are the most widely used DMT-bearing component of ayahuasca, combined in the brew with the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, whose harmala alkaloids render the DMT orally active.
