Titration strategies

Oral dose ladder (Erowid, mescaline HCl)0
Erowid's dosage documentation for oral mescaline hydrochloride[1] reports the following tiers:
  • Threshold: 100 mg
  • Light: 100-200 mg
  • Common: 200-300 mg
  • Strong: 300-500 mg
  • Heavy: 500-700 mg

Onset 45 to 60 minutes after oral ingestion; peak at approximately 4 hours; duration 4 to 8 hours with aftereffects 2 to 4 hours. These tiers are for the hydrochloride salt. Mescaline sulfate requires approximately 11% more material by weight for equivalent effect; freebase mescaline requires approximately 15% less. Mescaline content varies widely across cactus species and individuals, making precise

dose estimation from plant material unreliable.
