Neuromuscular blocker
Curare
Curare is the common name for a group of plant-derived substances, long used as an arrow poison in South America, that cause muscle paralysis by blocking transmission at the neuromuscular junction. Its introduction into anesthesia in 1942 founded the clinical use of neuromuscular blockers.
