Erowid's dosage documentation for oral DOM reports the following tiers:

• Threshold: 0.5-1 mg
• Light: 1-2 mg
• Common: 2-6 mg
• Strong: 6-10 mg
• Heavy: 8-12 mg

Onset 1 to 2 hours; duration 12 to 20 hours (longer at higher doses); residual effects 6 to 12 hours. The slow onset and very long duration make DOM particularly prone to accidental redosing before initial effects peak; this was a significant harm factor in its street use as "STP"

in the 1960s.
