Kola
Cola nitida, Cola acuminata
Kola nut is the seed of Cola (Malvaceae) trees of West African forests. Central to Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and other West African cultures as a hospitality and ceremonial gift; the offering and breaking of kola opens negotiations, weddings, and funerals. Caffeine source for the original Coca-Cola formula (alongside coca).
