Category:Books collects pages on actual books, and book-length essays, that are cited as primary sources or discussed in their own right on Pharmacopedia. A book belongs here when it has direct relevance to a topic covered on the wiki, whether as a foundational compendium of chemistry or pharmacology, a notable account of a particular medicine or class, a primary historical or ethnobotanical source, or a piece of literature important to the cultural history of a substance.
Each entry is a short bibliographic page by default; longer treatments may include biographical context, table of contents, or quoted passages.
Primary literary and ethnobotanical sources
The
template, used on many medicine and category pages,
draws verbatim passages from the three volumes of Dale Pendell's Pharmako trilogy: Pharmako/Poeia (1995, inebriants and narcotics), Pharmako/Dynamis (2002, stimulants and empathogens), and Pharmako/Gnosis (2005, psychedelics).
Foundational psychedelic writing
The Doors of Perception (Aldous Huxley, 1954) and PiHKAL (Alexander Shulgin and Ann Shulgin, 1991) are widely cited primary literary and chemical sources on the psychedelic phenethylamines and related topics.
